Discuss “Men’s soccer team shuts out Chicago ”

The Tartan men’s soccer team opened University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Saturday, coming up with a huge victory by defeating the University of Chicago Maroons 1–0. The win, coupled with their 4–1 victory Tuesday over Marietta College, leaves them at 7–2 (1–0 in the UAA) on the season.

The Tartans, coming off a 1–0 home loss to the Maroons last season, needed to beat Chicago to keep their championship hopes alive in a highly competitive conference. After a scoreless first half in which the Tartans held a 5–3 shot advantage, Carnegie Mellon scored one of their biggest goals of the season.

Senior forward Jonathan Browne scored his second goal of the year and what proved to be the game’s only goal in the 53rd minute....
