Discuss “Gospel of Judas shows betrayer in new light”

“Can you discover the depths of God? Can you discover the limits of the Almighty?” (Job 11:7)

No, you cannot.

The recent publishing of the Gospel of Judas is a perfect example of exactly why.

The problem: The discovery and translation of the 1700-year-old manuscript contradict much of what the Christian church has established. It is a direct threat to its sovereignty, being referred to as a heretical text.

For the past 2000 years, Judas has been regarded as the ultimate betrayer. His love for money pre-empted his love for Jesus and resulted in Jesus’ capture and crucifixion.

This article is a speculation with grandious absurd proportions. Never have I read such an outlandish report far from any evidence or truth.

The Gospel of Judas is a topic that interests me a lot, because I have always felt that there's probably more to the story than what meets the eye.
I read a very interesting book a while ago, called the Flight of the feathered serpent, it talks abotu the role Judas played in the Christic drama and his life and teachings and it posits the theory that Judas did not betray the Christ, but that Judas was his most beloved desciple and was thus ordered to perform the role that he did.
The surfacing of the Gospel of Judas a few years later just cemented my interested in trying to understand this mystery and dichotomy between the official view of judas and the new one that has recently surfaced.
I began hunting around for gnostic explanations for this and stumbled across a few sites that explain this.
One of these sites is www.gnosticjudas.com, which explains in depth the gnostic viewpoint of Judas and why they believe that he did not betray the christ!
I thought I would post about it here for those interested, because this site helped me further my understanding of this issue tremendously, and I wanted to share it with other people.
