A resident of Kappa Alpha Theta called University Police reporting items missing from the chapter house. She believed that someone had entered the chapter house between 3:15 and 3:30 a.m.
Theft Nov. 1, 2008 at 11:50 a.m.
A student reported his Carnegie Mellon identification card missing. He had been sitting at a table on the second floor atrium of the University Center with his card on his table when he realized he did not have it. He could not recall if he had lost it while ordering food or while he was sitting down. The student checked online and saw that the card had been used.
Suspicious Behavior Nov. 2, 2008 at 12:02 a.m.
University Police stopped a bicyclist at the corner of Morewood and Fifth avenues when they saw him wavering between lanes. They asked him if he had been drinking and brought him to their Craig Street office.
Theft Nov. 2, 2008 at 1 a.m. A PlayStation system was taken from a Stever House lounge. The system had been left unattended and the door to the floor’s wing was left ajar.
Vehicle Collision Nov. 4, 2008 at 10:19 a.m.
The Pittsburgh City Police reported to University Police that a Carnegie Mellon student was riding on his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle on Craig Street. An ambulance arrived on scene and examined the student, who was released on the spot.
Rally Nov. 5, 2008 at 12:30 a.m. . The Pittsburgh City Police reported a group of 3000 people they believed to be chanting “CMU” while heading toward the campus. They notified University Police. The group headed up Forbes Avenue, through the Cut, and toward Hunt Library. University Police arrived on the scene and found the group to be cheering for Barack Obama’s win in the presidential election. They were trying to get into Hunt Library.
