The Counterfeiters 8 10 12 Set in war-ravaged Germany during World War II, The Counterfeiters tells the story of Salomon Sorowitsch (Karl Markovics), one of the best counterfeiters in the country during that time, and his struggle in the Nazi concentration camps. Sorowitsch’s story is based on Adolf Burger’s memoir and touches on his moral conflict of choosing between helping the Nazi leaders facilitate a counterfeiting project called Operation Bernhard, and saving his own life. Stark and powerful, The Counterfeiters won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2008.

Wanted 7:30 10 12:30 A fast-paced action and adventure flick, Wanted stars James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie, and Morgan Freeman in the leading roles. The plot revolves around the story of Wesley Gibson (McAvoy), a defeated youth who is wooed by the sexy and mysterious Fox (Jolie) to join a secret society called the Fraternity. But somewhere along the way, Wes begins to discover that not everything is right with the members of the Fraternity, and he begins to have second thoughts. The movie moves toward a climax in which Wes deals with his new identity and his new friends.

Jaws 7:30 10 12:30 Directed in 1975 by Academy Award-winning director Steven Spielberg, Jaws is a classic thriller about a man-eating shark that proved to be a huge success in the box office during its time. It created the concept of the summer blockbuster movie, and has been diligently followed by similar hits every year, like The Omen and Star Wars. If great white sharks, screams of terror, or just old-time nostalgia interest you, this one shouldn’t be missed.

American Psycho 8 10 12 Based on Bret Easton Ellis’ book of the same name, American Psycho is the grisly and twisted story of Patrick Bateman (played by Christian Bale, of Batman Returns and The Dark Knight fame). Bateman is a self-obsessed broker who, although svelte banker by day, is a brutal murderer by night. He is the embodiment of the American psycho, killing and dismembering his victims in a cold and vicious way. The movie has great performances by Bale and Reese Witherspoon, who plays Bateman’s fiancee.
