There is a new discovery that is rapidly gaining acceptance, the RAD Prism. Go to www.readfluent.com to learn more. Invented by a father of a severly dyslexic child, Dr. Robert Dahlem discovered that there is a tendency for people who are dyslexic to have an assymetrical eye placement which often can be visually seen by looking at a person where the white space in the left eye closer to the nose is smaller than the white space in the right eye closer to the nose. Another indication is the third finger pencil grip, which is depicted in this story photograph. Go to www.readfluent.com to learn more. Obtain the RAD Prism by clicking on "About the Study" and filling out a participation form, view video clips from local news organizations by clicking on "News/Media". The RAD Prism simply allows a person to perceive the written word correctly.

Thanks for posting this article. For people like me who struggle with Dyslexia, knowing that science is making attempts to understand the condition is comforting. I was never officially diagnosed with Dyslexia and as a child grew up thinking I was deficient and unintelligent. I need to find ways around what I can not overcome, spelling, reading aloud, even sports and driving is difficult for me. I know now that I can learn, but just in a different way and to not be ashamed of who I am and how I’ve adapted my life to fit my Dyslexia. I think the most difficult thing is explaining to others how the condition affects me, they don’t understand why I don’t like to drive or that I hate to play games where I need to read aloud. I try not to be embarrassed and explain the best I can. I’ve sent this to a few people so they might understand better what I go through.

I’ve never let it get in my way..and hope that parents and educators learn to recognize the signs so kids don’t go through what I went though growing up.

Thanks again!
